Card Making

I have always loved crafts and really like to scrapbook, but I have just starting getting into card making. I don't have time now because I should be studying (even as I type this, I should really be studying). Hopefully once I finish school officially, I will have more time to scrapbook and make cards. For now, here is one I recently created for my fieldwork supervisor.

Already Saying Goodbyes

My good friend, classmate, and thesis partner is already moving before we even graduate. She and her husband are moving back to their home town next weekend. They bought their first house, and I am so excited for them! I am sad she won't be close this last month before graduation, but I know we will see each other again, and I look forward to those visits. We visited with a few classmates this afternoon and went to Dippin' Dots which happens to be right by my apartment...not a good thing...too many flavors to try! So glad it hasn't been here since I moved here and that I am moving out soon.

We will miss you Dr. P!!! So glad we got a chance to visit before you leave us!

Notepad

I wanted to make something special for my fieldwork supervisor. I had seen these notepads before, but I thought it would be fun to draw her kids and make it myself. She loved it! Any excuse for me to be crafty! I am looking forward to having some free time to catch up on my scrapbook!!

Finished!

I finished my last level II fieldwork on Saturday afternoon! I am finished with school for the semester and will be studying for boards 24/7. I have no idea when I am going to take the exam, but I am hoping to take it before graduation.

I had a really good experience during my last level II working with older adults. There are so many stories and lessons learned that I can take with me to my future job. I wish I could remember all of my favorite quotes...some sad and some very funny. You never know what a patient will say. :) I think my favorite story was a lady in her 90's who could barely hold her head up but told us she bought her pretty silver shoes on the Internet. I know people much younger who have no idea how to buy things online...so cute that she did just that. My supervisor was so much fun and really taught me all I need to know to be an Occupational Therapist. I will miss them all, but I am so so glad to be finished.

Easter Weekend

I am behind on posting but wanted to update from the last couple of weeks!

It was so nice going home for Easter and not bringing any school work with me! We started out Friday night celebrating because I have a job offer!! Saturday we spent the day with family in Alabama. I didn't take any pictures, but we got to see my cousin's little girl for the first time. Ali is 6 months old and such a sweet baby. Jessica's family was there as well, but she had to work all weekend, so she and Jason could not make it down this time. We really missed having them there. Jason came home for church on Easter Sunday and brought Ruby with him. Sally Fred and Ruby still do not get along and probably never will.

Two Weeks

Two more weeks of fieldwork/school. Two more weeks of navy Polo's and khaki pants. Hard to believe these last 3 years have gone by so fast! The good news is that I actually know what I am doing....well, most of the time! I know I still have lots to learn and experience to gain out in the "real world." The month of April will be filled with studying and job searching. Should be fun!

Also, today was a special day for Laura and Jason with the addition of Adelyn Jo!! She is a cutie!

SEC Tournament

This past weekend was so much fun! I presented my in-service on the vestibular system (not fun) Friday at lunch and then met my parents at my apartment to go to the SEC tournament (previous post). We only stayed to watch the Lady Vols because of the chance of snow. The next morning felt like vacation because I didn't have to get up early and the ground was covered in snow! Finally!! We started planning our Disney World trip and then went shopping before meeting my mom's Chi Omega sisters at Demo's and then went to the watch 2 games. Sunday was another fun-filled day! We called Disney to reserve our rooms!! (Thanks mom for talking to Abraham for 80 min....next time we will do it online.) Also, found a great deal on flights! We met her friends for dinner, but this time at Big River (downtown) and then went to the Championship Game!!! The Lady Vols beat LSU and are the SEC champions!

I took a ton of pics because I was trying out different features on my new camera. Some didn't turn out just right...oh well!

It's Snowing!!!

As soon as I started this post (1 hour ago), the power went off...no heat. Thankfully, it only lasted an hour. Being cold all night would not have been fun especially when I don't have many blankets and my parents are here for the weekend. Tomorrow's list of things to do include buying another blanket....just to be prepared!

This picture is from last week. (2/27/08) Check out those huge snowflakes! Looks like Charlie Brown snow to me!
