Celebrity Chef

I met him today...

Duff!
We got pictures with him but have to order those...sad day.

Very funny throughout the show.

Talking with local cake decorators about their cakes...getting ready to judge the cakes.

The book! It looks so good and is filled with awesome/beautiful pictures. I love books with great pictures.
Can't wait to read it!
Upon leaving the show, I decided:
a. I need to start watching his show.
b. I need to decorate a cake soon...if only someone would make the cake and icings for me...

Christmas Creations

Since I waited until the last minute/didn't have time until I was off from work, I was busy on the 23rd/24th! A friend had asked me to make a baby gift for her new little niece - a burp cloth and bow holder. I found the fabric for the "A" at the last minute to go with the pink/brown fabric I already had...I bought extra for more projects to come!

I decided to make Jason and Jessica gifts in addition to their purchased gifts this year...aka I promised my brother I would make him a shadow box of our adventures in the pit with Amanda at a race back in 2008 (oops...just a little late...I did buy the shadow box in 2008), and I loved how the other aprons turned out and thought Jessica might like one! I really like the fabric, and it is actually some I bought at HL instead of the piles of fabric I have ordered.

More creations to come once I get organized...need to start 2010 off with a little organization. :)

Mother/Daughter Weekend

The first weekend in December, Mom and I headed to Nashville for our 1st Annual Mother/Daughter trip with two of my childhood friends from AR. We headed to Franklin on Friday to do a little shopping while we waited on my friends to get in town. We ate at my favorite place then shopped in some of my favorite stores downtown...seriously a cute downtown...love it!
We then met up with them and ate at Cheesecake Factory...Catie had never been there. I thought it would be fun to start the weekend off with a little drive to look at lights. I just had to show them the ginormous Christmas tree...they loved it! No pics though. :( We then stopped at a house I went to last year...the family puts up tons and tons of lights in memory of their son. They give all donations to the hospital he was at. It gets pretty busy on their street, so they have people helping direct traffic and park the cars. We got out for a bit and took some pics before heading to the hotel.

Kelli and her mom

Once we found out where we were supposed to check in to the ginormous hotel, we made our way to our rooms. This trip was booked almost a year in advance...each one of us asked to be in rooms next to each other...they all said...no problem, I have it entered into the computer. Well, that was not the case when we got there and mom and I were not with the other two rooms. Once we got to ours...I was pretty ok with it! I had asked for a parking lot view...and got a garden view...sooooo pretty!! We left the curtains open a bit to let the twinkle lights sparkle into our room as we drifted off to sleep!!

The next morning we headed over to the Delta and had a nice breakfast right by the water...so peaceful. Too bad that can't be a Saturday morning treat every weekend!!

Oh, how I love this picture of us. :)

The moms had a nice time, too! :)

Such a great picture of Catie and her mom!

Too bad I didn't know about the character breakfast...I had a view of it from my room though. C. Brown is probably my most favorite cartoon...ever!! It is just too cute!

Waiting in line for ICE!!

I took tons of pictures of ICE...it was amazing...most are on my FB account if you need to see the rest!

I love how at the end of CB, Linus says, "That's what Christmas is all about C. Brown," and then ICE ended with ice sculptures of the Navity Scene. Again...awesome...if you haven't seen this one yet this year...go...it is really worth it!

Saturday night we headed over to see the Rockettes...I just love it! This was my second time and it was still just as good. I now want to see it in NYC!!! I did find the DVD that weekend and now can enjoy it anytime I want!

The moms after the show!

Moms/Daughters in front of the tree.

I wanted a pic of us with the twinkle lights in the background...they were all so pretty!

We had a great weekend...much needed in so many ways! Can't wait for our next adventure together!
