Super Saturday

Last Saturday I headed to the Memphis area for a very busy but very fun day!
My first stop of the morning was to a baby shower for sweet Elizabeth...

Love the Alabama stuff she got for little Zachary! Lots of other cute things, too.

Tori and Elizabeth

The next stop was to one of my most favorite places for lunch with LG who is also expecting a little boy! She had asked me to make a Big Brother shirt, and so I wanted to meet her and surprise her with a baby gift, too.

After a wonderful visit with LG, I headed to the Bro's to change and then met Hannah for a fun afternoon and little cake for her bday! We went shopping, had some cake, then headed to the movies.
After the movie, we met Jason and Jessica for dinner. Let me just say that the amount of sugar I had that day was beyond what I normally eat in a 2-3 day period, and I do love some sugar/eat way too much in a day. I had had sweets at the shower, 2 sweet teas at lunch, a diet coke and candy at the movie, a small piece of cake, and at least 2 sweet teas during dinner...on top of very little sleep the night before...I was beyond hyper at dinner and told my brother to make teeth out of the lemon peel...of course he agreed...and well, it was love at first site for J and J! ha!

I ended up staying with them because of the storm. We played guitar hero (a first for me) and Yatzee. I just stayed with them for church and lunch and then headed home to CRASH!!! It was a super Saturday for sure!!
This snowy Saturday has been the complete opposite and very nice, too!

Staying Busy

I have been pretty busy lately and have now also started working overtime again as we are short 2 OTs...I am already having trouble staying awake during 7pm TV shows and have only worked overtime 1 week. Sad but true.

Here are some of my most recent creations and some of my new favorites as well.

I love these little blue owls...I need to make more. :)

LG asked me to make a Big Brother shirt for her little boy...I surprised her with the cutest Little Brother onesie...this little owl started the blue owl making madness. Love it!

XOs get owls...
Alabama fans get elephants...
makes perfectly good sense.

I was asked by a XO (who also was my enrollment counselor when I was looking at UU...I still remember the day she came to my High School in Arkansas!) to make an owl shirt for her little girl. The best part is that her sweet little girl wanted to put it on before leaving church on Sunday.

This might be one of my favorite girlie owls.

After going to the cake show, I have been wanting to make a cake...just so happens I had a friend who just celebrated her birthday! The fondant was a disaster but tasted pretty good if I do say so myself. :)

Celebrity Chef

I met him today...

Duff!
We got pictures with him but have to order those...sad day.

Very funny throughout the show.

Talking with local cake decorators about their cakes...getting ready to judge the cakes.

The book! It looks so good and is filled with awesome/beautiful pictures. I love books with great pictures.
Can't wait to read it!
Upon leaving the show, I decided:
a. I need to start watching his show.
b. I need to decorate a cake soon...if only someone would make the cake and icings for me...

Christmas Creations

Since I waited until the last minute/didn't have time until I was off from work, I was busy on the 23rd/24th! A friend had asked me to make a baby gift for her new little niece - a burp cloth and bow holder. I found the fabric for the "A" at the last minute to go with the pink/brown fabric I already had...I bought extra for more projects to come!

I decided to make Jason and Jessica gifts in addition to their purchased gifts this year...aka I promised my brother I would make him a shadow box of our adventures in the pit with Amanda at a race back in 2008 (oops...just a little late...I did buy the shadow box in 2008), and I loved how the other aprons turned out and thought Jessica might like one! I really like the fabric, and it is actually some I bought at HL instead of the piles of fabric I have ordered.

More creations to come once I get organized...need to start 2010 off with a little organization. :)
