Meet Maggie

Getting tired of pictures like this?

Or pictures of this crazy for the camera kind of cat? Seriously, I think she loves the camera!
Thought so! Meet Maggie!

Maggie belongs to my mom's college roommate's daughter. She is keeping Maggie for a few days and stopped by on her way home. I could not resist taking a few pictures!

I think she loves the camera, too!

Flowers and a Cat

My only willing subjects...well, Sally is not always willing. Still practicing!

More Summer Treats

My dad got a new grill this summer, so we have "grilled out" a lot lately. Every Sunday night we have fresh vegetables from the local Farmer's Market and some sort of grilled meat. This Sat. we just had hamburgers but had fresh corn on the cob! Yum!
I got him this grill cover as a very late Father's Day present!

Family Fun Night

My mom's school had a Back to School Family Fun Night on Friday night. It was fun, and I practiced with my new camera...these were actually my first pictures...not too great. Still learning!

Photography

My interest in photography started when I was a kid. I always enjoyed looking at family pictures and pictures in books...it was something magical to me...how the picture forever captured a memory. When I was 6 my family went to Disney World with my grandparents. Some of their friends sent me and my brother one-time use cameras to use on our trip...I think from that point on, I not only enjoyed looking at pictures but capturing the memories for myself. I remember being mad when I couldn't take a picture I wanted to on that trip because my camera did not come with a flash!! I have been an avid scrapbooker since my high school days, too. The only thing I was missing was a really good camera. I just got a Canon PowerShot this winter for my birthday but wanted to purchase a better camera down the road. My granddaddy gave me graduation money, and I thought it only fitting to put that money towards a new camera because of his and my grandmother's love for capturing memories through film. My grandmother always had her camera with her, and for those of you who know me well, know I never leave home without it...I guess it runs in the family! I have been working a few months now and have saved up the remaining amount to purchase my first EOS (SLR) digital camera. This is something I have wanted since high school and am excited to learn how to use it. I may need a class or two to get the most out of this camera! I bought it after work yesterday and opened the box as soon as I got home. I have already taken over 100 pictures and am really excited about expanding this hobby! Here are some of my favorites so far!
