Exciting News
When I decided on going to OT school, I knew I wanted to be a pediatric OT. I tried to have an open mind all through school when working with adult patients on my fieldwork rotations, and I enjoyed most of them, but I knew it wasn't for me. I loved both of my pediatric sites and had the hope of finding a job in pediatrics when I graduated. I ended up finding one in adult rehab and knew that that was the job I was meant to have as it would give me experience and a foundation in my career. I planned on staying in my current job for 2-3 years because it is such a great opportunity where I am learning a lot and working with an amazing group of people, but sometimes in life our plans change. About a month ago my boss mentioned there was a position in pediatrics. I was so torn whether or not to even apply because I am happy where I am, but the more I talked with her, I knew it would be a good move for me, so I went and visited the clinic a couple of weeks ago and set up an interview for this past Wednesday. As I went to the interview, I had a peace about the situation and knew that whether or not I got it, I would have a good job. I even told myself it would be alright if I did not get it because I do enjoy my job even though deep down I wanted this new position because it is my dream job. I went to the interview, and it went very well. I felt like I could possibly have the job but figured it would be a while before I would know. An hour after the interview, I got a call and a new job! I was beyond excited and felt even more at ease about my decision to leave after being in rehab for a short 5 months. I talked with my boss on Thursday and let the staff know on Friday. I will definitely miss my coworkers, but I am excited about starting the new position in a couple of weeks. I will still have to go in at 7am, but I have Fridays off! I will be working 10 hour days, but I think it will be worth it! Maybe I will have more time for my hobbies! I will also be free from working the weekends and holidays!

Getting ready for another exciting weekend in AL! This game is Homecoming, so it may not be the most exciting game, but it still should be fun!
I will be posting some exciting news when I get back, so get ready! Sorry to leave you all in anticipation, but I have to go pack before my mom gets home!
PS...I start listening to Christmas music on Nov. 1st...I can't wait!!!

This morning...
- the stars were still out as I drove to work.
- it was freezing cold.
- the smell of a nearby fire made me feel only slightly warm...actually it made me want to go back inside and crawl into bed.
- my car had frost on the windshield for the first time this season...the defrost on a new car works a lot better/faster than on a 10 year old car.
- my first patient was so excited to see me bright and early this morning. :)

A High School Homecoming
It wouldn't be Fall without going to a High School football game and homecoming on a football field definitely reminds me of Fall. It really felt like football season with the temperature dropping this week...which I love! I just love this season with all the colors and the cooler weather.
