I Survived the Weekend!!

This weekend I drove to Memphis with a friend from OT school for a 3 day conference on Feeding Therapy. It was really a great conference but oh so long. We lasted in the chairs up until the morning break on day one and then moved to the back of the room on the floor for the rest of the weekend. The speaker who is not an OT walked by later that day and said, "You two must be OTs." ha! I fell asleep during the videos that lasted about 30 sec. or more on day 2 and 3! I don't know how I survived OT school because I barely survived 3 days of class! We did squeeze in some fun with dinner with my brother and sis-in-law Friday night followed by playing Apples to Apples...so fun...well, that is b/c I won 2/3 rounds! We also had dinner with my family Saturday night. The girls headed to MBS for some yummy cupcakes after dinner! We did get stuck in traffic following the storm on Friday and drove in crazy rain Sunday morning but other than that no weather problems...thankfully!

We never took any pics during the weekend and of course waited until the end of the weekend when we look like we haven't had any sleep and have been sitting on the floor for 3 days! oh well!
J & J (and Ruby)...Thanks for letting us stay with you this weekend...we had fun!

These two pics are from my Arkansas trip last month...they were on my other camera, and I totally forgot about them. The pic above is proof to Laura that they do still make the boxes! I got so excited when I saw them and ordered a HM just to take this pic! ha!
The one below is leaving the beautiful NWA mountains!!

A Fun Quick Trip to Nashville

This weekend I headed to Nashville to meet up with my friends from OT school. We started out Saturday afternoon with some shopping and just catching up. We then made our way downtown for the SEC gymnastics meet! I did not know we were going until I got to Nashville, so I was very excited to find out I would get to go this year!! I just wish I had had some of my AL gear!!

The tickets were given to my friend's dad, so we did not know where they were until we got there...

...yes, we did have box seats! So fun!!! I didn't take any pictures during the meet because you cannot use a flash, and I didn't have my good camera with me. The meet was so much fun...well, I enjoyed it! We didn't stay for all of it, but when we did leave AL was in the lead and their last event was the floor...I was thinking they would for sure win!

A quick pic before leaving the gymnastics meet!
Later on in the evening, I did find out that AL had won the meet!! So exciting since they lost to LSU when I went in February!
We ended the night with dinner at one of my favorite places...CPK!!! I got my pizza without cheese and it was delightful! We had such a great time...I miss these girls so much and can't wait for our next reunion!

Christmas Extravaganza!

The Saturday before Christmas, I headed to Nashville to enjoy Christmas with some friends from OT School. We enjoyed our 2nd Annual Christmas Extravaganza with shopping, dinner, an ornament exchange, scavenger hunt of lights, Christmas trivia, Christmas word scramble, winter treats at Starbucks, and catching up with each other.

The girls with their graduation ornaments I had made for them...they turned out really cute.

In our Christmas PJs ready to go get Christmas treats and look at lights around town!

Girls in the back!
It is never a dull moment in Hannah's car. We had a fun experience at Starbucks but it was kind of one of those moments where you had to be there to enjoy it and laugh about it!

I want a sign like this!

At a house with tons of lights. There is a story about it, but I am not completely sure if I can get it right. It was for their son and now they do it in his memory. They have a place for donations to go to the hospital where he was when he was sick...I think. There were lights everywhere and it really was pretty cool!
I had so much fun that weekend! Can't wait for next year!

Family Vacation

This past week we went on a family vacation which was a first in many, many years. I think the last vacation might have been when I was in 3rd or 4th grade because I do not count football games or weddings as family vacations. We had so much fun! The weather was amazing...84 degrees...H-O-T!! We landed yesterday to 44 degree weather with a bit of a drizzle...nice! I questioned why we came back! I can't wait to post pictures and maybe even a video or two! Too bad my computer decided to freeze during start-up just like in September. I did save all 500+ pictures and videos from the trip before taking it in to be serviced or replaced...whatever it takes!
Tonight is Jessica's graduation for grad school, so we will all be together again! I love spending time with the fam!
Tomorrow I leave again for a quick trip to see some of my OT classmates for a Christmas reunion...can't wait!!

Another Fun Weekend in Nashville

Even though we were in "class" most of the weekend, it was still so good to see a few of my classmates. We had fun visiting and even found time to go shopping. I found some fun owl items at one of my new favorite stores in Nashville. I of course purchased a few of them! I also found a book about my new camera, so I can learn more about how to use it!! Nashville is very short on gas right now and many of the stations were out. Fortunately, I can get there and back on one tank with my new car. I headed back tonight and got stuck in traffic from a wreck which made the trip home longer but it really didn't seem all that bad. Just gave me more time to think about the last 3 years and the good friendships I made while in school. I am so blessed to have met these girls and look forward to the next time we can get together. I forget how much I miss them until it is time to say good-bye again. That was the hardest part of the entire weekend and for some reason it was harder this time.

I missed the Alabama game today, but I am so proud of the Crimson Tide! It makes it better that I grew up in Arkansas and hear from my friends every time Arkansas beats us...not this year!!! Roll Tide Roll!

Ready to See These Girls!

Leaving tomorrow for a conference! The best part is that they will be there, too! Except Stacie who is still working in Hawaii...rough life! We will miss you Stacie. You should have just hopped on a plane and joined us! :) I am ready to catch up with everyone and do some of our favorite things when we have time off from the conference!! Maybe I can squeeze in some shopping, too!
