A Fun Quick Trip to Nashville

This weekend I headed to Nashville to meet up with my friends from OT school. We started out Saturday afternoon with some shopping and just catching up. We then made our way downtown for the SEC gymnastics meet! I did not know we were going until I got to Nashville, so I was very excited to find out I would get to go this year!! I just wish I had had some of my AL gear!!

The tickets were given to my friend's dad, so we did not know where they were until we got there...

...yes, we did have box seats! So fun!!! I didn't take any pictures during the meet because you cannot use a flash, and I didn't have my good camera with me. The meet was so much fun...well, I enjoyed it! We didn't stay for all of it, but when we did leave AL was in the lead and their last event was the floor...I was thinking they would for sure win!

A quick pic before leaving the gymnastics meet!
Later on in the evening, I did find out that AL had won the meet!! So exciting since they lost to LSU when I went in February!
We ended the night with dinner at one of my favorite places...CPK!!! I got my pizza without cheese and it was delightful! We had such a great time...I miss these girls so much and can't wait for our next reunion!

Weekend in Alabama

This weekend we went to Alabama for the gymnastics meet and also a basketball game.

The gymnasts come out between these letters and then are introduced with fireworks. It is quite a show before the meet starts.

Unfortunately this was the worst home meet in years, and they lost to LSwho? I didn't even know they had a gymnastics team!

The next day we made a quick appearance at my cousin's 4th birthday party for more gymnastics fun.

Her favorite part was the pit or in her words, "blocks."

Another loss for the Tide this weekend as AL lost in the final seconds after having the lead most of the game.

We had dinner with family and had time to visit last night and this morning before heading back home. It was a great weekend despite the outcomes for both sports.

Go U.S.A.

The Olympics have been fun to watch once again! I have enjoyed watching my favorite, gymnastics, but have also enjoyed swimming and a few random others as I wait all night for them to replay gymnastics. I understand that when it is a live event, gymnastics will be on late, but when they are replaying it, why, why, why, does it have to come on after the men's gymnastics so very late and past my bedtime??? Also, scoring has been so inconsistent and if you have watched it, you know what I mean! So very frustrating, and I could go on and on about it...I will spare you all! Tonight is the beam finals, and because it has already happened, the results are posted on the top of my Internet home page...nice! It will be good, so get ready to watch it!!!

On a random note...I am in need of a cupcake from MBS in Memphis...ASAP!!

Tomorrow

8.8.08 The 2008 Olympics start tomorrow, and I am so excited!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell? I need to get the schedule of events, so I don't miss my favorite...gymnastics! Woohoo!!!

Tomorrow is also TGIF! Even though I had Monday off, it has kind of been a long week and Friday cannot come soon enough!

No traveling this weekend (finally!), so it will be a quiet and restful one or so I hope!

The Olympic Trials for Gymnastics come on in just a few minutes, and I am so excited! I have been counting down the days for this!

I have not accomplished anything on my list of things to do today...there is always tomorrow after church or maybe later tonight.

April

This month has been filled with a lot of studying, study groups, and practice exams, but I was able to find time to take a few breaks with friends. I went home the first weekend in April and this is what I found on my bed Saturday morning...love her!
That same weekend was also Eleusinia, so I made Chi Omega bracelets for Founder's Day! It was great seeing friends and catching up with everyone. Wish we could have had more time visit. I was only able to get one picture that day.

LG, me, and Cam

The drive on the way home was so pretty, so I took a picture! I love the purple and green with the pretty blue sky. I just love Spring!

Another fun break from studying was working at the gym one last Friday night. I have been a parent's night out coach at Harpeth School of Gymnastics while being in grad school and have really enjoyed working there. The last night included a group of great kids and the traditional Sonic visit after the gym was clean. No pictures for this, but I have been told we can go back and take some for the scrapbook!

This past weekend was the 1/2 Marathon...no, I didn't run! Cam was here to run it, so we met up Friday night for dinner! I really enjoyed visiting with her and her friends from Florida State. Also, Cam ran the 1/2 Marathon in under 2 hours...very impressive! Congrats Cam! So proud of you!!

Studying hasn't been too bad, but I am very ready to be finished. After that is graduation, a week of fun with friends, and packing to move home! Oh, and waiting for my exam score!

Here is one last picture of my view! It is so green and pretty around here! Well, I better do some last minute studying!

Gymnastics, Basketball, and Early Birthday Fun!

This weekend I met my mom, dad, and Uncle Jerry in Alabama to go to the gymnastics meet vs. Georgia, basketball game vs. LSU, and celebrate my birthday a little early. We stayed with my aunt and uncle and had Birthday fun Saturday night at their house.

Alabama lost to Georgia in gymnastics, but they won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in individual all-around! I wanted to go to this meet to see three Olympic gymnasts from the 2004 team. Terin Humphrey (Alabama), Courtney Kupets (Georgia), and Courtney McCool (Georgia). Terin was sick and could not compete this week. I think we could have won if she was well. :) Random Fact: Terin and Courtney McCool trained at the same gym before the Olympics!

Saturday was the basketball game and Alabama won! It was close at the end, but they pulled throuh and beat LSU! We had bad seats and moved closer after the first half.

February Birthday fun! (Channing turns 3...I will be 25!)

Strawberry Cake!

Cousins!

Opening her birthday presents: a new book, Fancy Nancy, and fancy shoes and feather boa, so she can be like Nancy in the book!
