Disney Trip: Part III

We spent all day Monday at Epcot and did not get to see/do everything...it is just not possible!!

This was before riding Test Track which is so fun! Even the parents liked it! Another fun ride in Epcot is Soarin' which we all enjoyed. I still like the Figment ride just because it was my favorite there when I was 6. :)

In the country section of Epcot they had storytellers at most of the countries sharing their story of Christmas. I only got to see 2 because of time, but I think it is something fun to do while there during Christmas.

Germany has a glass blower making ornaments! I had planned to buy one and really I don't know why I did not.

Jason and Jessica in Mexico. We ate dinner there and it was fabulous!

The most in character Snow White I have ever met.
Snow White: What's your name? (all said in the perfect Snow White voice)
Me: Sara
Snow White: Well, hello Princess Sara!
I hope she didn't see me roll my eyes! I really just wanted a picture with cute Dopey!

Donald!

The Candlelight Processional which was amazing! The guest speaker our night who read the Christmas story in between songs was Monique from HSM!

They have guest choirs from all over the country perform.

Mom with a gingerbread house!

This might be one of my favorite pictures of the whole trip. Can you find the hidden Mickey?
After the candlelight processional was the firework/laser light show. It was really late, but my mom, dad, and I stayed for it. It was another great show!
Our next adventure would take us to Asia and Africa in the Animal Kingdom!

Disney Trip: Part II

Once arriving to our resort for the week, we grabbed a quick bite and then headed straight for Hollywood Studios (MGM). We didn't have much time there and probably should have gone back another day to catch up on all we missed, but I guess that means we will have to go back! Everything we did there was a lot of fun...the shows were really amazing!
On the bed in the room!!

Look dad, you can smile!
One of many bus rides to the parks...a great service except when there are not enough people to ride and they never come get you...another story for another day. The boat became the best option later in the week.

What a way to start off a Disney Vacation...they were having a block party bash/parade as soon as we walked in this park.

Dancing in the street!

Does Jason look scared? He might just be since we were about to get on the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride which was not bad at all! It was actually pretty fun!

Just the girls went to see a 30 min. Beauty and the Beast show. It was so cute! The guys went to check out the star wars ride and a show that ended up being for kids.

This was from Fantasmic...another show. It was amazing! I did more video of this because it worked better than taking pictures since it was so dark, and they used some black lights during part of it. Glad I did the videos because it went great into the DVD I made of our trip! Also, found some hidden Mickey's while watching!

The boat at the end with all the characters celebrating! One of my favorite parts!

This show is a must see for sure! I would go back to see it again!

In a store window...they were dancing and just too cute!

I made the mistake of not making reservations for every table service meal just because I couldn't decide and other reasons, so our first dinner was after 9pm, but it was in our resort! As soon as we received our dinner, they made everyone get up and do the hokey poky (pictured below). I also got some great video footage of the little dance! It was a fun place to eat as the waiters and waitresses were funny and made people do some silly things.

Once arriving to our room, all of our luggage had been delivered...another perk to riding the magical express! We were so very tired by the end of the first day and our adventure had only just begun! The next day would take us to Epcot!
Stay tuned!

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
(Yes, we have on matching PJ's!)

Disney Trip: Part I

I have been patiently waiting many days to write this post and the ones that follow. I waited patiently for my computer to be repaired for the second time since buying it a year ago and then waited patiently for the Internet to work. Well, now is the time and so much has happened since we returned from our Disney vacation last week that I will forever be behind on blog posting.

We left last Saturday for Memphis, so we could get to the airport on time Sunday morning. We were in beautiful, warm Florida until Thursday when we were welcomed back to TN with cold weather and rain. Friday night we all went to Jessica's graduation and then Saturday I left for Nashville to spend time with some of my OT classmates to do a little shopping and for our 2nd annual Christmas Extravaganza (which deserves a post...coming soon!). There will be lots to blog about in the coming days and Christmas, too!

This is what we get when we say "Dad, smile!" More fun pics of "Dad, smile!" coming soon!

This is what Jason does any time he flies...goes to SB and then watches people pass through security. Fun!

"Who's excited?!?!"

On our way to find the magical express!!

Dad and Jason in line to get our Magical express passes!

Waiting...

...and waiting!

Boarding the magical express...definitely the way to go to Disney!

On the magical express...ready to see Mickey!

We were so ready to get to D.W. It had been 19+ years since our last trip and being the Disney fan that I am, that is a very long time to wait. I don't think I can wait that long next time. This was also our first family vacation in ages, and it was to celebrate my graduation in May and Jessica's this month! We (I) started planning over a year ago for this trip!!
This is just part one of the Disney vacation...get ready because it might be a wild ride! There are Christmas presents to wrap and finish making...it is Christmas Eve after all, so you all will have to wait for the rest of the Disney adventure. Until then...have a Merry Christmas!

Family Vacation

This past week we went on a family vacation which was a first in many, many years. I think the last vacation might have been when I was in 3rd or 4th grade because I do not count football games or weddings as family vacations. We had so much fun! The weather was amazing...84 degrees...H-O-T!! We landed yesterday to 44 degree weather with a bit of a drizzle...nice! I questioned why we came back! I can't wait to post pictures and maybe even a video or two! Too bad my computer decided to freeze during start-up just like in September. I did save all 500+ pictures and videos from the trip before taking it in to be serviced or replaced...whatever it takes!
Tonight is Jessica's graduation for grad school, so we will all be together again! I love spending time with the fam!
Tomorrow I leave again for a quick trip to see some of my OT classmates for a Christmas reunion...can't wait!!

It Finally Happened

I have been going to eat at my favorite place for 6+ years and never have I been able to walk in and hear this until tonight...
Cashier: Will this be dine-in or carry-out?
Me: carry-out
Cashier: Chicken Tort in a bread bowl?
Me: Yes and no G.O.
They now know me and know what I order...sad but true.

The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer...

This Christmas seems to be flying by...I just want to be able to stop and enjoy it but there is too much to do! Last weekend I had a Sunday School Christmas party, did lots of shopping for people other than family members (I need lists, thanks!), and also planned to decorate our family tree...still working on it. Tonight I went to my mom's school to see the 3rd grade students perform a Christmas musical, and it was too cute!

Two of the boys I kept during the summers of my college days...they did a great job (2 on left). All three of these boys were in my mom's K. class. It was fun to see some of her former students...hard to believe they are in 3rd grade!!

Basically spent my summers with these two...they are growing up too fast!

Did not get a picture with the other family I kept during the summers, but I did get to talk to them about their recent trip to Disney!

Tomorrow night we are having a Christmas party for the kiddos at work. That should be an experience! Have I mentioned that I really really love my job...seriously!

Lots to do this weekend! Cleaning, shopping, decorating, etc.

Lots of stuff coming up that I am super excited about...time off from work, time with family and friends, and lots of Christmas Cheer!
